Steve Tilley is a director of Kilimanjaro Live, one of London¹s biggest independent promoters. He has taken artists such as Ed Sheeran, The 1975 and Catfish and the Bottlemen from small early shows at venues such as The Borderline and The Barfly to arenas and stadiums UK-wide. Originally from the North-East, Steve started off as a musician, journalist and club DJ after graduating from University in Stoke-on-Trent. Settling down there he started to promote his own gigs in the late 90s in and around the Stoke area. He became one of the owners of independent venue The Sugarmill in 2002 around the same time as he signed Agent Blue to Island Records as their manager. He joined Kilimanjaro in 2008 as a national promoter where he has successfully used his wide knowledge of the industry to build  a very successful roster of artists. His passion for new music is unabated and he¹s still regularly to be found at the back of a small venue checking out new acts. In 2016 he was voted the Œ¹Promoter¹s Promoter¹¹ by his peers at Live Industry conference ILMC. He supports Newcastle United, is still obsessed with Bruce Springsteen and improving his tennis too.
