BOB HARRIS' UK COUNTRY TAKEOVER
Festivals and Events Director at The O2 - AEG
As Director of Festivals and Events for AEG Europe, Milly Olykan develops and produces festivals and new live event content for the world’s most popular music and entertainment venue - The O2, London. The most significant of these is Country to Country, the UK and Irelands largest country music festival.
Launched in 2013, Country to Country now reaches over 60,000 fans in one three day weekend via festivals taking place in London, Glasgow and Dublin. Country to Country has changed the landscape for country artists touring the UK and Europe by providing a significant platform for new artists, and huge reach for established artists via its social networks and strategic media partnerships.
In 2017 Milly launched Country Music Week – a series of country shows across London to provide a platform for emerging country acts. The first Country Music Week includes performances from Little Big Town, Kip Moore, Marty Stuart, plus special events including CMA Songwriters Series, The Bluebird Café and Under The Apple Tree sessions.
Since 2014, Milly has also been on the CMA Board of Directors, and is current chair of their International Committee.
Since its launch, C2C has helped further the European development of Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley and Kacey Musgraves and provided the first UK live exposure of Little Big Town, Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Florida Georgia Line, Tim McGraw and Chris Stapleton, and introduced artists to the UK including Thomas Rhett, Sam Hunt, Maren Morris, Kip Moore, Charlie Worsham, Ashley Monroe, Brandy Clark, Maddie and Tae, Drake White and many more.
