What's It Like For Women in Music?
DJ, Radio 1 / 1xtra
With a supercharged backlog of award-winning radio shows, electrifying mixes and the sharpest eye for cutting edge new music, Jaguar is one of the most impressive and exciting new DJ's to break out onto the UK scene. Whether she is tearing up clubs, hosting her bi-weekly slot on Reprezent Radio or introducing esteemed DJ’s to the world at Mixmag’s Lab LDN, everything she does is with an authentic energy and positivity like no other. This was instantly picked up by BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra, who brought her on board as an intern and member of its highly-regarded Youth Council back in 2014, as well as making her the face of Radio 1’s ‘One Million Hours’ TV campaign.
During her time living in Leeds, Jaguar was known for her love of showcasing new artists from across the city and beyond, including Mella Dee, TWOGOOD, Weezy Jefferson and Kalyan on her radio shows. Her efforts were nationally recognised at the Student Radio Awards in November 2016, when the legendary Steve Lamacq from 6 Music awarded her with Gold Best Specialist Music Programming and Silver Best Female 2016.
Forever honing her skills as a media personality and selector, Jaguar is fast becoming a name that is frequently being placed alongside dance music big hitters such as Jasper James, Monki, My Nu Leng, Joris Voorn, Eli & Fur and more. When she’s not behind the decks for pioneering brands Smirnoff and Good Life, or bashing out ‘global rave material’ as part of Carly Wilford’s Sister crew, Jaguar lends her ears to BBC Music Introducing as curator, interviewer and host of showcases and live events, including introducing up-and-coming artists onstage at Glastonbury Festival 2017.
At just 22 years old, Jaguar is a rising star in the music and media spheres. She is spurred on by a genuine passion for life and a spark for adventure, leaving the future extremely bright for this young tastemaker.
