How to Start (and Grow) a Booktube Channel

Thank you, Katie! I especially loved your comment that you were not sure you had the right personality for Booktube. Obviously you do! I initially hesitated about starting a channel because I am an introvert and not very bubblyโ€”but people have been so supportive of both my relatively quiet style and my nerdy book choices. After having a channel for nearly six months, I am feeling more and more comfortable in front of the cameraโ€”but I am still introverted. Hearing that you slow your videos down makes me realize that I could speed mine up a bit! Thanks again.

This is so helpful! I had never thought about metadata before. Thank you for these tips! It has been a slow start for me and I wish I had seen a video like this before I started my own channel.

Katie, yours was the first channel I found and was the catalyst for my love for Booktube! I was...and still am...thrilled with your Classics content...such a perfect fit for me.

Though I don't plan on starting a channel this video was still well worth watching. As a subscriber I feel it's important to leave comments and feedback. I am probably a bit too enthusiastic about it but am a believer in it nonetheless. I'm very appreciative of the time, effort and passion people put into their channels and don't want to take it for granted.

This is such a wonderful collection of advice! This will be such a perfect video to share with some of the new booktubers who admit to being worried about their lighting issues or reading tastes. Thanks for putting this together! :)

Amazing and thorough video with lots of good advice! I agree especially with your first point about personality. Another thing I worried about when I started my channel, was how different my personality was in different videos - sometimes I'm a bit more upbeat, sometimes I'm quiet and serious, sometimes I'm very silly. I worried (and still do sometimes) that that comes across as fake, but really every video just captures the mood I'm in on the day I record, and that's fine. You're so right with your advice about choosing a good channel name. I would also add to not call yourself Spinster's Library when you're married because PEOPLE WILL LITERALLY NEVER STOP ASKING ๐Ÿ˜‚
I should probably spend more time on meta-data. Thank you for the shoutout also!
